After four weeks of being too sick to taste anything, I'm finally back in action! I have a lot of recipes stocked up and am looking forward to trying them all. I began by cooking a meal that would last just through the week, as I "fleed to the Cleve" this past Saturday morning for a few days. As there is no perfect weekend to schedule a vacation over, I managed to schedule this one over Easter Sunday. Easter dinner is probably one of my favorite traditional holiday dinners, and seemed quite cookable in what little time I had free during a weeknight this week.
I'm getting quite tired of writing a step by step recount of the cooking process, so I'm going to try my best to describe my cooking experience with those popular ugly cartoon characters:
me when there's five minutes left of the workday *looks up le recipes*
pineapple ham, scalloped potatoes, soy sauce asparagus, and ambrosia. What a lovely meal! *writes shopping list on the iPhone*
after concert band rehearsal and a trip to the grocery store
*at le shaws* finding out that a slice of ham costs as much as an 8 pound ham that I can't possibly finish in a week
Get all the groceries!
After carrying all the groceries home
Alright, time to cook! *runs around le kitchen for two hours*
cut my nail super short using a potato peeler
asparagus, potatoes, and ham in the oven
otay, time to make the ambrosia
...
how could I forget to buy mini marshmallows for the ambrosia
Le roommate Hobbs goes to Teds and brings back marshmallows!
DING!
all of the cooking is done!
*le finished products
after tasting all of le Easter dinner
Le recipes:
Scalloped potatoes
Brown sugar and pineapple glazed ham
Baked asparagus with balsamic butter sauce
