D'Guru would be D'Glad to taste this!

I did it! I finally cooked Indian food. Learning how to cook Indian food has been a goal of mine since I fell in love with D'Guru, the best Indian food in the financial district. And I'm so stupid, I should have known that cooking chicken tikka masala would have a nearly identical cooking steps as chicken masala. Does masala mean "cooked with tomatoes"? I should google that or something. Anyways, the only real difference is the spices and yogurt. The yogurt added thickness to the sauce (despite my whining "Leahhh will it work? I don't want to screw this up!"), and the spices even came in a spice pack (I don't consider that cheating, I've yet to be able to find garam masala in any other form besides this spice pack) designed for making chicken tikka masala. The cool part was that when we thought we would have leftover ingredients, the alternative to cooking another batch of Indian was cooking a batch of Italian. But Indian is trendy and we had enough spices, so we ended up making one big tupperware container of leftovers.

After Leah left, I attempted to make Cadbury eggs (not pictured, I/coworkers ate them too fast). So the cool thing about store bought desserts is that they have this innate ability to mask the fact that you're pounding your face with cups of sugar and butter. Homemade cooking doesn't always do that, and Cadbury eggs were no exception. This recipe required nearly a stick of butter and three cups of confectioners sugar, and I'm pretty sure I only used two. They also looked more like turds than eggs. I guess the cool part about the recipe was that it required no baking, and instead I had to work quickly as I popped trays and bowls in and out of the freezer. I need to find more super easy no-bake recipes, they're super fun. The finished product was tasted by my coworkers the Tuesday after Marathon Monday, and the sweet taste was much appreciated and applauded by all.
