Your face is a meatloaf

This week, I cooked another doable risk - meatloaf. I already had bread crumbs in the kitchen, and made sure to stock up on essential sauces. I used a combination of a complicated recipe from Alton Brown and a basic recipe from another site, so I basically winged it. Despite my previous thoughts, rule #7 about taste testing does not apply to raw foods, aka meatloaf. Most meatloafs I've eaten previously and enjoyed were pretty salty, so I was sure to be generous with shakin' that shaker.  I also purchased a salt-free seasoning called Mrs. Dash, and used that with my favorite seasoning,  Mr. Paul Prudhomme's Veggie Magic. I added some pre-cut red peppers, green peppers, and onions, along with bread crumbs and all the spices and everything nices. The sauce was magical, and was made with only three ingredients - catsup, mustard, and brown sugar!

.

En route to the Springfield transit authority on Sunday afternoon, I purchased half a dozen ears of corn and two summer squash. For some reason I've been ultra lazy the past two nights and haven't had a chance to cook the squash, but I microwaved four ears and served up 3 to my taste testers. The corn turned out gummier than I remembered eating from a few nights ago, and will therefore try steaming the remaining two ears tonight. I also have a pound of ground beef left from a super sale yesterday, so I will make some pineapple onion meatballs with those tonight as well! I better get used to this kitchen work, as when I have kids in a decade or so I will be shackled to the kitchen for many years.

This post is short, so here is another cute animal video from Connell and my archive:
